O1 To acquire theoretical and practical knowledge (at the laboratorial level) concerning the nanomaterials used for biomedical applications.
O2 To understand the multi and interdisciplinary character of the field.
O3 To be aware of the ethical issues that can arise when nanomaterials are used in biomedicine.
O4 To be aware of the difficulties to overcome and of the potentialities of the current/future use of nanomaterials in biomedicine.

Evaluation Methodology: The curricular unit includes 32h of theoretical classes, 16h of theoretical-practical classes and 32h of practical classes. In the former, the teacher's teaching is accompanied by multimedia projection; during these classes, the teacher is always open to discussions with the students. In the TP lessons, the students are invited to search and explore scientific articles in the domain of the curricular unit. In the P (laboratory) classes the students perform a short lab project; students are asked to design the protocol before performing the experiments; all the experimental studies are conducted in groups. The evaluation of UC consists of: a) 1 written test (50% weight); b) 1 oral presentation of a scientific article (20% weight); c) 1 scientific report (written in the form of a scientific paper) of the experimental work done (30% weight). Only the written test may be repeated in the appeal period. A minimum of 9.5 values is required in each element of
evaluation to succeed in the course.
