Course Information

Course Objectivs

  • Provide knowledge and capacities to the students to understand the chemical phenomena that are the basis of Chemistry and Biochemistry;

  • The student must acquire and consolidate knowledge and fundamental chemical principles to understand the transformation of matter, structure, bonding and physical and chemical properties of atoms, molecules and materials;

  • The student must develop abilities to solve problems related to chemical and materials. Finding processes for solving exercises through a correct equation and definition of the intermediate steps of the problem;

  • The student must acquire skills that allow them relating the learned matter in theoretical and practical-theoretical components and explaining some of the most common chemical phenomena of the day-to-day.

Evaluation Criteria

The evaluation of this curricular unit consists of two written tests (each 50%), with the possibility to replace one of the tests in the complementary season.
