Course Information

Course Objectivs

- Understand that Biochemistry is the study of life at a molecular level and that life is a biochemical phenomenon.

- To know the fundamentals of biochemistry, its interdisciplinary nature and its applications.

- To know the molecular basis underlying life, including the chemical structure, composition and function of molecules and biomolecules, correlating them with the biological and physiological functions they perform.

- Understand the organization, function and regulation of major metabolic pathways of biological systems.

Evaluation Criteria

The Evaluation Model "B" was adopted for this curricular unit. This unit has a theorical and a practical component.

Practical component - The weight of this component for the final grade is 50%:                                                                               

a) 2 technical reports and continuous assessment - The weight of this element of evaluation for the final grade is 30%. The student must attend at least 60% of the practical classes.

b) Practical exam - The weight of this element of evaluation for the final grade is 20%.
