Course Information

Course Objectivs

1 Know and identify the various materials that can be used to design an artifact industrially produced. The theoretical component aims to explore the materials by their physical, mechanical and aesthetic properties. Their behaviors at different times, on non-loaded, loaded and rupture stages. Recognize and identify the available materials on the market, knowing how to choose the most suitable one for a particular design project, be it industrial, interior or urban facility. The theoretical and practical component, the behavior of ferrous metals, organic and composite materials is fundamental to learning areas related to Design, to help in choosing and dialogue with other disciplines that integrate any design project. Analyze and understand the origin, extraction, processing and production of various materials is also an important goal in a complete formation of Design students.

Classification Type: Quantitative (0-20)
Evaluation Methodology: Evaluation: Frequencies/Exam 50% (minimum 8.00 values); Theoretical-practical works to be developed in the Normal Season (not recoverable in Appeal/Special seasons) work 50% (minimum 8.00 value).
