Course Information

Course Objectivs

1 Knowing the main pathophysiological changes of the forum surgical affecting human health, including the defense mechanisms in response to organ damage.

2 Knowing the major complications related to surgery.

4 Characterizing the mechanisms of action in the body and the mechanisms of bio transformation of drugs.

5 Describing the technical aspects of medicine and therapy: active ingredients, therapeutic effects and side effects and safety mechanisms in the administration of medicines.

6 Identifying the mission and operation of the organizations responsibles for approving, and distributing information about medicines for human use.

7 Knowing the main pathophysiological changes of a medical affecting human health, including the defense mechanisms in response to organ damage.

3 Describing the major drug groups.

8 Understanding the human immune response .

9 Knowing the influence of microorganisms in the human body and means of prevention of associated diseases .

10 Knowing the main means of diagnosis and non-drug therapy.

Evaluation Criteria

Classification Type: Quantitative (0-20)
Evaluation Model: B
Evaluation Methodology: Three frequencies to evaluate the knowledge acquired (content and organization of ideas); A group work written with oral presentation. The parameters to evaluate are memorization, interpretation, analysis and synthesis of knowledge about the content covered in contact hours and in student's autonomous study. Non-participation in at least 75% of teaching sessions (contact hours), involves no recovery ratings in recourse or improvement assessment periods and implies reprobation of the discipline.
