Course Information

Course Objectivs

1 Develop skills in assisting a person in a complex processes of critical illness and / or organ failure;

2 Explore the principles of primary assessment, resuscitation and advanced life support algorithm;

3 Develop skills in the administration of drugs to the person in critical condition. Skills to be developed: Analyzes, interprets and synthesizes objective data of emergent situations, managing information from different sources; Interprets the primary and secondary examination in an organized and efficiently prioritizing needs; Plans intervention to the needs of the person in critical condition mobilizing the necessary expertise and utilizing appropriate technical resources; Works on intra-or interdisciplinary team encourages a climate of cooperation; Identifies risk practices and adopt appropriate measures.

Evaluation Methodology: The Course will be developed through theoretical and practical sessions and laboratory practices using the lecture-demonstration and participatory method where, in addition to the exposure of the subject previously worked, will be idealized case studies to promote participation and reflection group. Thus, the simulated practices mobilize students to apply knowledge and instrumental skills. To this methodology is essential divide the class into sub-groups to better utilization of resources. Given the theoretical and practical nature of this course, the evaluation system adopted will be periodically reviewed and the evaluation model will be B. Thus will be provided two evaluation elements with the same weight, 50% each, a frequency and a practical test. The minimum score on each of the elements is 10 values ​​can be recovered on appeal.
