Course Information

Course Objectivs

1. Mastering the knowledge of sport management: public and private organizations; sports project development; policy and decision making; sports marketing plan; cost-benefit analysis; human resources management; quality of services and sports sponsorship.

2. Understand the role of sport manager and sport directors according to the nature and mission of sport organizations.

3. Define the concept public interest of sports and to understand the role of the State in accordance with sports Legislation.

4. Define and justify the importance of strategic management and management by objectives in sport.

5. To know and apply the ethical concept and deontology in sport management field.

6. Be able to collect, select and analyze data in sport management field and develop critical thinking.

7. Be able to work in a team, reveal social responsibility and appropriate ethical behavior.

8. Be able to communicate and justify the work through written report and oral discussion.

Evaluation Criteria

1. Oral and visual presentation of the contents with the possibility of students? participation.

2. Students develop further readings on the contents of the program as a way of deepening knowledge.
3. The active participation of the students in the classes (5% of the final grade) is encouraged through the answers to the questions and the application of the knowledge, therefore, a minimum attendance of 75% of the classes is required.
4. The students' evaluation is assessed through two tests (30% + 30%), requiring a minimum grade of 9.5 points to be approved. If the student is not approved he can go to an appeal examination.
5. A group work (35%) is developed on a theme of the program that involves data collection, and this work is evaluated in three phases. In this work these skills: structuring knowledge, data interpretation and critical thinking, cooperation among colleagues, oral communication and the production of a written report are encouraged and trained in practical lessons
