Course Information

Course Objectivs

To acquire basic knowledge of the field of ethno-anthropology in order to understand the discussion on the dynamic process of Culture. To know the cultural dynamics that shape the understanding of the importance of physical activity and different meanings and readings that allowed them expression. To understand the values and anthropological-cultural dynamics and social structures in different historical periods of human life, where the physical activity proved to have major importance.

To know the different expressions of physical activity and their relative importance, determined by different civilizational contexts, from antiquity to the present day, understanding the reasons, from the philosophical and ideological trends that justified them.

To gain the ability to comparatively analyze the different expressions, values and contexts, to better understand today´s reality.

Evaluation Criteria

Students enrolled will be evaluated according to the following scheme : a) Periodic evaluation- Consisting of two written examinations on issues within the programmed content. (Rating 70%) b) Continuous Assessment- Work with respective written submission and oral defense (Rating 20%).- Grounded Critical interventions during classes. (Rating 10%). Note - 1. Access to periodic evaluation is only available to students who meet a minimum of 75% attendance to classes. 2.The use of extraordinary mechanisms of evaluation will be framed under RAAAUM terms.
