Biographical Notes
His research activity focuses on Civil Engineering, with particular emphasis on fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials, structural strengthening and rehabilitation, durability and long-term behaviour of materials and structural systems, and the development of innovative construction solutions.
Throughout his academic and scientific career, he has participated in national and international research projects, supervised Master?s and PhD students, and contributed to scientific publications and technical documents. He has also been involved in standardisation and technical guidance related to structures using composite materials.
In terms of teaching, he has experience lecturing in Civil Engineering and composite materials courses within both national and international programmes. Between 2023 and 2026, he served as Deputy Coordinator of the FRP++ (European Master in Advanced Structural Analysis and Design using Composite Materials). Since 2026, he has held the position of Assistant Professor at the University of Madeira.
