Overall objectives:

1 Recognize the importance of research in education in the professional development of teachers; b) To know the paradigms of research in education; c) Understand the epistemological and ethical issues that are posed to research in education; d) To know modalities and instruments of investigation in education; e) To develop competences of critical analysis of investigations in the area of Education f) To develop competences in the elaboration of academic and scientific works with the methodological rigor appropriate to its nature.

2 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: To understand concepts, principles and practices of research, To distinguish qualitative and quantitative research designs; Recognize the importance of problem definition; Knowing ways to review literature; Collect, analyze and interpret data through interviews and documentary analysis; Develop the analytical spirit and critical research studies; Elaborate scientific articles with methodological rigor.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitative (0-20)
Evaluation Methodology: The classes are organized with exhibitions, readings and debates, work in pairs and / or in groups, in interconnection with other curricular units. Students develop gradual processes of autonomy in the study of the theoretical and methodological aspects of research in education. The evaluation of the Master's degree is based on the following evaluation elements: - 2 individual and / or pairs over the semester, a total of 30% (work 1 -10% and work 2 - 20%) - Writing a work scientific, according to APA standards - 25% (maximum 5 pages) - Final test - 45% The requirements for a positive evaluation are: correct writing; theoretical knowledge of literature review; capacity for informed and systematized analysis; taking a reasoned critical position; appropriate and relevant communication on the reflections developed. It is possible to recover 70% of the grade in resource examination.
