Vote of Praise to Dr. Francisco Manuel de Oliveira Costa

Meeting of the General Council of the University of Madeira - 9th January 2017

"In the period before the agenda, Mr. President of the General Council elected thanked everyone for their presence and left a word of appreciation to Dr. Francisco Costa for the way he led for two mandates (two thousand and eight - two thousand and twelve; two thousand and twelve - two thousand and sixteen) the General Council of the University of Madeira, to whom a vote of praise was proposed, and unanimously approved, with the following wording:

Considering that Dr. Francisco Costa recently left, of his own volition, the General Council of UMa, which he presided over for eight years;

Recognising that his presidency of the General Council has always been marked by great balance, flexibility and great wisdom, dignifying this governing body and the University of Madeira itself;

The General Council of the University of Madeira, expressing its gratitude and recognition, has decided to award public praise to Dr. Francisco Costa, former Chairman of this General Council".
