Biographical Notes

Nasceu a 2 de Dezembro de 1980, na cidade de Caracas, na Venezuela, no seio de uma família de portugueses naturais da Ilha da Madeira, mas emigrantes na Venezuela, no período de 1971 a 1989, seus pais: Manuel Gomes Rodrigues Cafofo e Rosa Maria Pinto Cafofo, já possuíam dois filhos, Renato, nascido em 1970 no Funchal, e Maribel, nascida em 1972 em Caracas. Frequentou com aproveitamento o 1º e 2º anos da escolaridade primária, na Unidad Educativa Colegio María Inmaculada, em Caracas, Venezuela. Em Portugal, Ilha da Madeira, em Janeiro de 1990 cursou o 3º ano de escolaridade primária, na Escola Preparatória do Laranjal, Freguesia de Santo António, Funchal. Em Outubro de 1990 reingressou no 3º ano de escolaridade, na Escola Preparatória do Campo do Marítimo. No ano lectivo 1997/1998 ingressou no Liceu Jaime Moniz, Funchal, onde frequentou o Ensino Secundário do Curso Geral, concluído em 2000, com a classificação final de 18 valores. Em Outubro de 2000 ingressou na Licenciatura (pré-bolonha) em Engenharia Civil, na Universidade da Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal. Nesta mesma universidade obteve não só a licenciatura como também, o grau de Mestre e finalmente o Grau de Doutor(a) em Engenharia Mecânica (23/02/2012). Em 2012 trabalhou na Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (sede, Lisboa) ocupando o cargo de scientific officer das engenharias. Entre 2013 a 2015 foi bolseira de pós doutoramento no Departamento de Engenharia Mecânica da Universidade de Coimbra. Entre julho 2018 a setembro 2019 foi investigadora de pós-doutoramento no ECOFIBRAS project (Eco-sustainable valorisation of invasive vegetal species in Macaronesia to obtain fibres with industrial use supported by the Transnational Cooperation Programme Madeira-Azores-Canarias (MAC 2014-2020) towards Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Centro de Química da Madeira (CQM). Atualmente leciona na ESTG da Universidade da Madeira e no Departamento de Engenharia Civil e Geologia e é aluna de doutoramento de EngCivil.
