The path is made by walking (António Machado [1875-1939]). Take the stones you´ll find on this path and build a ladder so you can see higher.

Biographical Notes

All my life I've been connected to gymnastics. I´ve started it at 3 years old in gymnastics for babies, when I was 5 years old I went on to Men's Artistic Gymnastics and then at 8 years old (because my trainers considered that I had potential) I switched to Trampoline Gymnastics. Until today, I believe that was the best option because the passion for this Olympic sport is massive and ever growing. As a gymnast, throughout my 22-year old career in trampoline gymnastics, I represented 4 clubs. In all, I achieved quite relevant results, either individually or as a part of a team. I was injured a few times, but never seriously. My posture as a gymnast has always been to overcome my limits and remain focused both at school and in training (where "I never went to training", but instead, every day, "I trained").
I started my career as a coach at the age of 20, in a modest club, but which eventually became big in the city where it develops its activity. Currently, I am a Grade II trainer in Trampolines Gymnastics, at CTM Ponta do Sol.
As I´ve always considered that training is an important pillar in personal and professional development, I completed a Degree in Physical Education and Sport at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, and a Masters in Sport for Children and Youth, at the Faculty of Sport in the University of Porto. In the hiatus between the Degree and the Masters, I completed a Post-Graduation in Observation and Analysis of Sports Movement, at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. I started my professional career as a teacher of Basic and Secondary Education, in 1996, in Vila Real. I currently belong to the Ponta do Sol Basic and Secondary School. Over the years I have always enjoyed investigating and studying the sports phenomenon, namely Gymnastics. In 2016, as Guest Assistant Professor, I joined the University of Madeira.
It was and it continues to be a immense challenge to be able to disseminate scientific knowledge to our students.
