Subject: Drawing Laboratory II

Scientific Area:

Drawing

Workload:

64 Hours

Number of ECTS:

6 ECTS

Language:

Portuguese

Overall objectives:

1 - Provide an introductory qualified experience approach, theoretical and practical, to fundamental aspects of geometric modeling and graphic representation of spatial and formal realities.
2 - b. Provide qualified experiences of practical application of the competences referred to in the previous paragraph, framed in a set of short term projects in which the selection and systematization of individually adequate graphic representation processes is tested, resulting in efficient tools in consequent creative processes.

Syllabus:

1 - Introduction to geometric modeling and projection systems.
2 - Sistemas de projeção Ortogonais.
3 - Axonometric projection systems.
4 - Conic or Linear Perspective.
5 - Introduction to the representation / modeling of lighting systems.
6 - Rendering systems in practical contexts:
6.1 - Theoretical and historical aspects of rendering methodologies;
6.2 - Rendering and visual preception;
6.3 - Rendering methods and techniques.
7 - Practical applications of graphic representation/modeling systems: selection and systematization processes.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
The theoretical component of the course is taught by lecture method, privileging the inductive processes where feasible. Thus, theory classes are interspersed with practical-theoretical classes, the latter corresponding to two basic models: a. presentation and discussion of typical problematic situations in collective way, proposed by the teacher; b. approach of concrete situations and consequent resolving methodologies, proposed by the students. Regularly, contact hours are devoted to the development of individual projects, based on the model refered to on (b.). The evaluation of the course is accomplished through the submission of a set of projects by the student of theoretical-practical nature, individually prepared, from concrete proposasl previously submitted and approved, based on mandatory statement sdiscussed at the beginning of semestre. Weight of evaluation components: Theoretical: 30%; Practical-theoretical: 70% (proj.1: 15% + Proj.2: 25% + Proj.3:30%).
