Overall objectives:

0 - The Introduction to Economics CU has the substantial purpose of providing students with the basic principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics and presenting them with various fields of application of economic theory. The "Economy" CU has as an additional purpose that the students dominate the discipline's own conceptualization, and seize the methodology of the economic logic used. The applications presented in the unit are mainly descriptive in their nature. The Learning Objectives are as follows:
1 - Understand and apply the concepts of Economics.
2 - Learn the methodology of economic logic.
3 - Solve simple problems using the methodology of economic logic and concepts learned.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
Theoretical and practical classes, oral presentations, periodic examination and final exams are designed to develop and test in depth the understanding of concepts and apprehension of the logic of economics. The resolution of the exercises and problems on the practical classes will help the student acquire the ability to apply principles and ideas of the Economy. The evaluation is individual and without consultation. Evaluation: On the due dates two mini-tests of 45 minutes and an examination of 90 minute will be carried out. The grades of the mini-tests come with a weighting of 25% each on the average with the examination grade (50%), giving a value that rounded to the nearest integer is the final grade. The minimum grade in the examination is 8.5 values for the student to have passed the periodic evaluation. Students who do not pass the regular assessment but who have a positive grade on one of the exams can take the Re-Sit exam only on the subject of the other exam.
