Overall objectives:

1 - The student should develop a general perspective about the Tourism Company and its relationship with the economic and social environment.
2 - The student should understand and differentiate the multiple dimensions involved in tourism and hotel activity.
3 - The student will be familiar with the contents associated with the structuring functions of the management of tourist Companies and their functions.
4 - The student should be able to handle some tools, resulting from the functions of the hotel manager, in order to achieve the business objectives;
5 - The student should be able to identify the main themes and concepts associated with commercial, financial, production, human resources and maintenance functions.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Evaluation Methodology:
The privileged teaching-learning methodology will be based on a set of theoretical classes (T) and theoretical-practical classes (TP). These sessions of collective nature will be developed with the use of theoretical exposition, analysis and interpretation of case studies and in an interactive way, encouraging students participation. At the same time, practical sessions will be held. The assessment will be continuous, with two distinct assessment elements, a practical work and an exam, both with a weight of 50% of the final grade of the UC, with a minimum grade of 8 values in each of the elements. The adopted form of assessment for the Time of Appeal is an exam with the same weight and conditions of the Regular Period.
