Overall objectives:

1 - The general objectives of the subjecttake into account the overall objectives of the Degree in which it is integrated and the competences to be achieved in the field of Tourism. The UC aims to provide a scientific training in the field of Tourism Economics and offer the students the unique opportunity to develop skills and attitudes for an insertion in the labor market in the area through economic literacy, essential for the basic and integral training of the person in the area of ​​Tourism and an economic vision of the tourist reality. With this UC it is intended that the students know the evolution of the Tourism Economy over time, and can understand the affectation that the economic models have in the life of the populations and what the consequences in particular social consequences. Students are expected to acquire the ability to critically analyze, interpret economic indicators, which allow to characterize the different tourist destinations and their specificities.

Evaluation Methodology:
This section presents some methodological observations. The four main characteristics of the classes are: 1. Expositive, to present the theoretical reference frames; Participatory, with analysis and resolution of practical exercises; 3. Active, with individual tests; 4. Self-study, related to the autonomous work of the student. The working model of the training programs is based on the division into theoretical and practical classes or theoretical-practical classes. In the theoretical classes there are examples of motivation with exercises for resolution, in addition to the practical classes, which may motivate students to attend theoretical classes. The practices are aimed at solving paper and computer exercises and supporting practical work. The UC has continuous evaluation and final frequency considering the following elements and respective weightings: Group work 50% Final N. (minimum 8 values); Frequency - written test 50% Final N. (minimum 8 values).
