Overall objectives:

1 - Know and understand the structure and functioning of the main organs, systems and apparatus.
2 - Analysis and identification of several factors and mechanisms related to the function of several organs.
3 - Develop competences in the capacity of interpretation, analysis and intervention regarding the function in a systemic perspective.

Syllabus:

1 - Homeostasis and organic compartments.
2 - Regulatory systems: autonomic nervous system (anatomical and functional comparison of the sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions) and endocrine system (mechanisms of hormonal action and regulation of hormonal secretion. Description of endocrine glands, secreted hormones and their physiological effects).
3 - Cardiovascular apparatus - Heart: histological constitution; cardiac cycle: mechanisms regulating cardiac activity; cardiac parameters. Vascular system: blood pressure and pulse; anatomy and physics of circulation.
4 - Respiratory apparatus: Pulmonary ventilation, hematosis, transport of gases, lung volumes and capacities and regulatory mechanisms.
5 - Digestive tract: digestive tract and attached organs. Digestive activities (ingestion, digestion, conduction, storage, absorption, elimination).
6 - Urinary System: Anatomy of the Kidney and Nephron. Urine formation stages. Regulatory and balancing functions.
7 - Muscular Skeletal Physiology: Structure and muscular contractility. Neurological control of movement.
8 - Bioenergetics and Energy Expenditure Assessment.
9 - Ventilatory adaptations.
10 - Blood adaptations.
11 - Transport of gases in the blood.
12 - Cardiorespiratory adaptations.
13 - Neuromuscular adaptations.
14 - Endocrine adaptations to exercise. Thermoregulation.

Evaluation Methodology:
The syllabus is taught in the theoretical sessions, practical and theoretical-practical laboratory in which the teacher seeks to interact with students in order to facilitate dialogue and clarification of doubts. To evaluate the field of knowledge is made two written tests (40% x2). Throughout the lessons are being requested works, which represent 20.0% of the final mark awarded to the student. These are subordinate to the themes of the program are presented and evaluated in practical classes. Through the implementation of the work is intended to stimulate demand for sources of information, the structuring of knowledge and oral communication skills.
