Subject: Reinforced Concrete II

Scientific Area:

Civil Engineering

Workload:

80 Hours

Number of ECTS:

7,5 ECTS

Language:

Portuguese

Overall objectives:

1 - The Reinforced Concrete II course aims to complement the knowledge acquired in the Reinforced Concrete I course, so that the student becomes able to design a complete reinforced concrete small and medium-sized structure. To this end, the design of the Ultimate Limit State of Slabs is taught, as well as foundations and strut and tie models. The code followed is EN 1992-1-1 (EC2). Finally, the execution of concrete structures, according to ENV-13670, is approached.

Syllabus:

1 - Design and Detailing of Reinforced Concrete Slabs
2 - Design of Reinforced Concrete Foundations
3 - Stress Field Models
4 - Execution of concrete structures (ENV-13670)

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
Two tests with theoretical questions and practical problems related to the material taught in the discipline. The tests have the objective to assess the theoretical and theoretical-practical knowledge obtained by the students. This way, the student may, during the semester, evaluate his performance and change strategies, if necessary. Weight: 50% each test, with a minimum of 8.00 values. Minimum test average: 9.50 values. The students with grades above 16 will have to make an oral test, otherwise the final grade is 16.
