Overall objectives:

0 - This subject aims to provide strategies and tools to the students in order to support the development of their academic competencies and ethical orientation since the beginning of the course. It also covers aspects concerning transversal skills that could be transferable and strengthen their overall employability. As such, its comprises the following goals:
1 - Contribute to enhance academic skills and competency's development specially aligned with the outputs that students will be asked to provide in most of the subjects of the course (reports, essays, team reports and oral presentations).
2 - Contribute to develop more transferable skills to other social and professional contexts (e.g. communication, problem solving, analytical skills, cooperation and team work).
3 - Build awareness about the importance of their ethical behavior and orientation during their academic training and future professional career.
4 - Familiarize the students with main publication and writing APA standards.

1 - Higher education and the development of employability.
1.1 - Employability and specific and transversal skills.
1.2 - Employability development strategies (curricular and extra-curricular activities).
1.3 - Competencies training activities (e.g. communication, planning and organization , team work leadership, interpersonal skills, goal orientation).
2 - Ethical behaviour.
2.1 - Main concepts and notions (ethics, deontology and ethical codes).
2.2 - Deontology and its implications within the domain of Psychology
3 - APA norms.
3.1 - Scientific Writing (style and content).
3.2 - Citations and References.
3.3 - Content structure.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
Theoretical classes aim to develop conceptual not ions relevant to the topics under consideration following expositive and interrogative methods. More practical classes will implement active methods through the realization of several activities in the classroom (using assessment center methodologies) with the purpose to give specific tools and feedback to the students to help them to develop knowledge and competencies. Students will also be encouraged to provide self-assessment and to assess colleagues and to learn how to effectively criticize and give feedback. Assessment will include a theoretical component (e.g. knowledge test accounting for 50% of the final grade) and a practical component (that could consist on the elaboration of report and individual and team outputs, accounting for 30%). Students will be required to perform an oral presentation (accounting for 10%) that will be also integrated in their final assessment.
