Overall objectives:

1 - The course aims to provide the students with a theoretical framework and techniques to develop a Hu man-Computer Interaction design project. It also aims to stimulate their creativity and awareness of societal/market/user needs. The practical part of the course relies on the development of projects, and the tutoring by the teacher to those projects.
2 - Students work as teams to develop a semester-long Human-Computer Interaction project where they go through several design, implementation and evaluation cycles. Each team will develop a product/service to solve a given design problem. Students are encouraged to submit their work to international design competitions, such as the one at the CHI conference.

Evaluation Methodology:
Teaching is theoretical-practical. The theoretical par t is based on the bibliography for the course, and the practical part is based on the student projects. There are 3 assignments and a final project, developed in a group. Students are also evaluated by their participation in class. The evaluation percentages are: 1) participation in class: 10%; 2) assignments (20% x 3): 60%; 3) final project: 30%
