Overall objectives:

1 - Provide students with familiarization with the basic concepts of tourism;
2 - Understand the complexity of tourism in its systemic relationships;
3 - Identify the different types of tourism; Identify the agents of the tourism system;
4 - Understand the organizational structure of tourism;
5 - Identify the players in the tourism system and their responsibilities;
6 - Develop a critical reflection on what tourism planning should be.

2 - The system, product and tourist destination: components of tourism supply and tourist demand.
3 - Tourist organizations.
4 - Public and private sectors.
5 - Tourism policies Structure and commercialization in the sector.
6 - Tourism planning.
7 - Legislation applied to tourism.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
Use of expository and interactive methods; performing practical exercises in the classroom, in a group; research and considerations on statistics and tourism policies and strategies at local, regional and national levels. The assessment will be based on written tests and practical work giving relevance to the students' continuous work in the classroom.
