Overall objectives:

1 - Identify, analyse and apply various sources of information and promotion in tourism.
2 - Analyse the information needs arising from tourist services.
3 - Development of commercial techniques applied to the different fields of tourism (accommodation, tourist entertainment, travel agencies).

Syllabus:

1 - Tourism Information Sources.
1.1 - The importance of information in tourism;
1.2 - Tourism information sources: tourist offices, travel agencies, websites, among others;
1.3 - Types of information required (accommodation, transport, activities and places of interest);
1.4 - Information request processes (personal, mail, telephone, fax, email);
1.5 - Collection and updating of information;
1.6 - Provision of services as intermediaries.
2 - Tourism Promotion.
2.1 - Importance of tourism promotion;
2.2 - Techniques, actions and programs for tourism promotion;
3 - Commercial Techniques.
3.1 - Commercial function in companies;
3.2 - Negotiation process;
3.3 - Advantages and disadvantages in negotiation;
3.4 - Application of commercial techniques in various tourism contexts (accommodation, travel agencies, etc.).

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
The classes will have a strong practical component, with analysis of case studies and application of roleplay techniques, for analysis and formatting of tourist information for the different professions in the field of tourism, for the various profiles of tourists, potential and effective, for the tour agents and the current media, giving relevance to the students' continuous work in the classroom. The evaluation will be based on a written test with a weight of 50% and a practical group work, with a weight of 50%. Only the test can be recovered at the time of appeal and be subject to improvement.
