Overall objectives:

Obtain scientific knowledge in the fields of meteorology in order to prepare future professionals of Civil Protection in the correct use of meteorological information in general for better interpretation of meteorological forecasts and products of modern technologies of observation and surveillance of the weather.

Syllabus:

Composition of the atmosphere. Climate system and spatial and temporal scales. Meteorological equipment and instrumentsAtmospheric pressure. Global circulation of the atmosphere and the major climatic regions.1st and 2nd Laws of Thermodynamics. Dry air and humid air.Stationary flow and balance of forces: the wind.Hydrostatic equilibrium and the concepts of instability. Aerosol dispersion.Analysis and interpretation of weather chartsMeteors and clouds. Types of clouds and their formation.Air masses and fronts. Anticyclones and depressions: associated weather states.
