Overall objectives:

It is intended that at the end of the studies the student (trainee) will be able to: a) Perceive the different moments of the game and know the technical and tactical actions, being able to distinguish individual, group and collective actions, in order to be able to plan the training sessions; b) Understand the tactical and technical actions of the game in order to be able to create situations in training that stimulate the learning of these individual and group tactical-technical means.
Helping players understand the game for better decision making; c) Understand the reason for the fundamental actions of the attack and defense game d) Understand the critical factors in the execution of different techniques, attack and defense, in order to be able to exemplify and correct them in training sessions, particularly during the training process ; e) Identify the specific positions in attack and defense and their specificities; f) Reach the reasons why the progression of sports performance is not linear: that there are moments of different learning speeds, linked to the development and maturation of young practitioners. The. Understand sports training as a long-term process in which there are windows of opportunity for the development of a certain factor (physical-motor, technical or tactical) according to the moment of maturation and development of the practitioner that must be considered in sports planning. B. Realizing that motor literacy is important for developing the practitioner's potential, therefore the practice should be, as much as possible, multilateral (within the modality) and multisport in the initial years of participation, which is why early specialization should be avoided. g) Know the stages of long-term sports preparation according to the LTAD project, applying it to handball. h) Understand the importance of the training coach for the practitioner, thus seeking to act in accordance with responsibility. i) Being able to collaborate in the project of the sport for inclusion: through wheelchair handball.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

The program contents are covered in theoretical-practical sessions and laboratory practice, with the possibility of intervention and clarification of students' doubts.
The assessment includes: Additional readings and summary presentations (10%); One (or 2) knowledge assessment test (40%); Assessment of observation and management capacity, which includes one (or more) group work, observations and respective reports (25%); A practical assessment (25%). The approach to the syllabus, through theoretical-practical classes, requires the acquisition of specific knowledge in the field of sports, as well as critical reflection on the different perspectives related to this sport.
