Biographical Notes

Eduardo Manuel de Almeida Leite (PhD) is Vice-President of the School of Technology and Management at the University of Madeira and an Honorary Researcher at the School of Law, University of Aberdeen (United Kingdom). His academic and research work sits at the intersection of Management, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Law, with particular emphasis on how entrepreneurial ecosystems evolve through institutional dynamics and regulatory frameworks. He has participated in 13 European consortia, including three Horizon Europe projects, contributing to the mobilisation of over ?20 million in competitive funding and strengthening collaboration between academia, industry, and the public sector. He publishes in Q1/Q2 peer-reviewed journals and is the author of Entrepreneurial Becoming (McGraw Hill, 2026), with a foreword by David B. Audretsch. He founded and leads OSEAN, promoting the integration of research, doctoral training, and territorial innovation, with a particular focus on entrepreneurship ecosystems in Europe?s outermost regions.
