Biographical Notes
I completed a Bachelor?s degree in Physical Education and Sport at the University of Madeira in 2010, followed two years later by a Master?s degree in the Teaching of Physical Education and Sport in Basic and Secondary Education at the same institution. In January 2025, I obtained a PhD in Sports Training from the University of Coimbra, within the Research Centre for Sport and Physical Activity.
Throughout my academic and professional career, I have conducted research in Sport Sciences, with a particular focus on Health and Medical Sciences, dedicating special attention to the development of sports performance and learning in educational and training contexts. I have participated in five research projects, and my main areas of interest include training methodology, performance observation and analysis, and sport pedagogy.
My academic work also integrates emerging topics such as active aging, serious games, robotics, augmented reality, and virtual training systems, seeking to bridge sport, technological innovation, and the promotion of lifelong physical activity.
Alongside my scientific activity, I have served as an assistant coach in professional football, participating in top-tier leagues across different countries and continents. This experience has provided the opportunity to take part in major European competitions, including the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League, enriching my global and multicultural understanding of the game. I also have extensive experience in youth football coaching and player development, promoting the integration of scientific knowledge with practical application in sport.
