Overall objectives:

1 - To Know the modality and its historical evolution from its genesis to the contemporary days, at the level of the organization (World, National European and Regional ), rules (volleyball and beach volleyball), and tactical technical-tactical means.
2 - To dominate in the theoretical-practical scope the tactical technical-tactical means of the volleyball.
3 - To recognize the organization of the game in several phases (Attack on reception, counter-attack and transition), as well as the devices and means of each of the phases.
4 - To identify in a game the tactical-strategic differences between two teams, as well as the factors that contribute to the success/failure of the winner/loser.

Syllabus:

1 - Team games Nature and classification
2 - History of Volleyball: the origins, development, analysis of the evolution of the game and current trends.
3 - Terminology, symbology and signage of Volleyball.
4 - The actions of the game and its dimensions, technical-tactical Individual and tactical-strategic group and collective .
5 - Analysis of the complex structure of the game; the dynamics of the game; time and space.
6 - The systematization of the game in attack, counter-attack and transition.
7 - The elements and devices of each phase.
8 - The various game systems.
9 - Beach Volleyball; the origins, development, analysis of the evolution of the game and current trends.
10 - The advantages and disadvantages of each variant of the game.
11 - The technical/tactical-strategic elements.
12 - The distinctive features in relation to Volleyball.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
1. Presentation and exposition about the contents with possibility of intervention of the students to clarify doubts. 2. Practical experimentation of the contents covered. 3. Development of research and further reading on the topics covered. 4. Presentation by the students of the group work done in an attempt to identify the similarities and differences between the game models observed. 5. The active and relevant participation in points 1,2 and 3 represents 10% of the final grade, being required to attend 3/4 of classes. 6. The assessment of knowledge in a written test represents 40% of the final grade, with a minimum mark of 9.5 values, subject to appeal. 7. The performance of a group analysis and dissection of a volleyball game represents 25% of the final grade. 8. The practical evaluation in reduced form or formal form, represents 25% of the final grade.
