Overall objectives:

1 - Develop skills in assisting a person in a complex processes of critical illness and / or organ failure;
2 - Explore the principles of primary assessment, resuscitation and advanced life support algorithm;
3 - Develop skills in the administration of drugs to the person in critical condition. Skills to be developed: Analyzes, interprets and synthesizes objective data of emergent situations, managing information from different sources; Interprets the primary and secondary examination in an organized and efficiently prioritizing needs; Plans intervention to the needs of the person in critical condition mobilizing the necessary expertise and utilizing appropriate technical resources; Works on intra-or interdisciplinary team encourages a climate of cooperation; Identifies risk practices and adopt appropriate measures.

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
"The different contents will be treated with an active-participatory methodology, using the expository method, bibliographic research and document analysis and problem solving through simulated cases. The evaluation model is B, according to the UMa appraisal evaluation regulations, and includes a frequency (50%) and a practical test (50%). The final classification is expressed in the scale of 0 to 20 values and is the responsibility of the teacher The approval of the course implies approval in all components (minimum 9.5 values) and requires the presence in 80% of the hours. There is recovery at resort / improvement or special season."
