Overall objectives:

1. - Generalities: The teaching of the Foreign Language, French A2, intermediate level, according to the "Common European Framework Reference as for the Foreign Languages. Learning, Teaching, Assessing" (2000, p. 25), is the continuation of the A1.1 and A1.2 levels for the Course of Culture Studies. This level has objectives as follows : develop the linguistic competencies, in oralty as well as in writing through a oriented, systematic, rigourus learning of morphology, syntax of French, as the foreign language and, naturally to develop the students' autonomy through observation of the language and through its discursive and communicative practices. The contents of the Foreign Language, French A2.2. are divided into three units (six lessons) according to six correspondents topics. The vocabulary, the grammar, the pronunciation, the reading and the writing are progressively introduced to every lesson of the correspondent units.

Methods of Teaching: Multi-approach -Don't use the students' mother tongue (Portugese) -Expositive classes, theories and practices at the same time with the presentation by videoprojector - Use of the Internet: cultural activities (pictures, geographical maps, authentical texts, etc.) -Discussion according to various topics and/or the theoretical contents - Readings and discussions -Oral presentations / workshops - Games (Objects description, personal portraits, etc. Gests - Use of dictionaries (Portuguese/French -Dialogues simulation -Songs with lyrics etc. Assessment of the students' learning: The students' assessment or the skills' acquisitions regarding the French language knowledge of French A2.1 (Elementary level) is through the regular assessment with 3 frequencies 33% each and 1 point to the final average with optional project, and one point to the final average if oral participation
