Doctorate Degree in Physics

The cycle of studies of the Doctorate in Physics is comprised of 3 academic years dedicated to research work and elaboration of an original thesis (there is no curricular component). The research is performed at the Department of Physics of University of Madeira and the Node at UMa of Instituto de Plasmas e Fusão Nuclear (IPFN) of Instituto Superior Técnico.
The main aim of this cycle of studies is the advanced and qualified training of students, either in the field of fundamental studies or in high-tech industry related-areas.

Candidates

Eligible applicants will have a master degree or a legal equivalent, or an undergraduate (batchelor) degree and a relevant academic or scientific curriculum that will be recognized by the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Engineering.
