Overall objectives:

1 - Understand and recognize the importance of information for the decision-making process, developing the structuring capabilities of a management control system.
2 - Develop mechanisms for evaluating performance and monitoring indicators for analysing the company's strategic evolution.

Syllabus:

1 - INFORMATION FOR DECISION MAKING: General Accounting/Analytical Accounting/Budget Management.
2 - THE ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT OF THE BUDGET PROCESS: The roles played by the budget in the organization; The behavioural aspects of the budget process; Building the Master Budget - key pieces of information; Alternative approaches to the budget system: Flexible Budgeting and Diversion Analysis; The calculation and investigation of Deviations: The budgeting of other financial items.
3 - INTERNAL TRANSFER PRICES
4 - STRATEGY AND MANAGEMENT CONTROL/PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: Responsibility Centers Strategic Costing Systems Versus Traditional Costing Systems; Principles of Responsibility and Control The use of ROI in evaluating performance and Residual Profit; Performance assessment based on Economic Value Added (EVA); The value chain concept; The Balanced Scorecard System.

Evaluation Methodology:
Classification Type: Quantitative (0-20) The aim is to acquire and apply the knowledge provided for in the objectives and syllabus. The evaluation will be carried out through 2 frequencies, with a weighting of 50% each. Both elements can be recovered in appeal season through an exam (100%).
