Overall objectives:

At the end of this module, the student (trainee) should be able to:
Identify the nature of the different perspectives and corresponding paradigms related to the conceptualization and systematization of Collective Sports Games ( JDC ).
Systematize Handball;

Experience Handball game situations, in order to reach a minimum of competence (practical-theoretical) referenced to the modality's specific motricity; Understand and identify all the dynamics of Handball; Knowing the origin and history, evolution and development perspectives of Handball; Know and understand the organizational structure of the sport, at national and international level; Perceive and know about how to observe the modality addressed; Realize the importance of rules and arbitration for the affirmation and evolution of the modality; Knowing and knowing how to use the terminology and symbology as a communication tool between the agents of the modality (namely coaches and players); Understand the complex internal structure of the game, transferring this knowledge to training: in the construction of the training plan, exercises or in the manipulation of reduced and formal games in order to achieve the intended objectives.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Supplementary readings and presentations of syntheses (10%);

A knowledge assessment test (40%);

Assessment of observation and management capacity, which includes group work, observations and respective reports (25%);

The approach to the syllabus, through theoretical-practical classes, requires the acquisition of specific knowledge in the field of sports, as well as critical reflection on the different perspectives related to this sport.

The practical sessions request the acquisition and application of knowledge and observation skills and mastery of handball game skills.

The development of group work makes it possible to: develop communication and teamwork skills.
