Conference: Narratives of the Atlantic: Whaling in the Azores through the Eyes of Travelers
Esta sessão integra-se no âmbito do Doutoramento em Ilhas Atlânticas – História, Património e Quadro Jurídico-Institucional. Ao trazer para o debate a baleação nos Açores enquanto fenómeno histórico, cultural e económico observado por viajantes, a conferência patenteia a investigação comparada e interdisciplinar entre arquipélagos atlânticos, em sintonia com uma das linhas de investigação do doutoramento: pensar as ilhas a partir das próprias ilhas, promovendo leituras cruzadas sobre práticas, memórias e identidades que estruturam o espaço atlântico.
