AGEO Project has won the REGIOSTARTS 2025 Award in the category “Green Europe” and also the “Public Choice Award”

The AGEO Project (Platform for Atlantic Geohazard Risk Management), funded by the Interreg Atlantic Programme, and with the University of Madeira as a partner, has won the REGIOSTARTS 2025 Award in the category “Green Europe” and also the “Public Choice Award”!

Organized annually by the DG REGIO of the European Commission, the REGIOSTARS Awards recognise EU-funded projects that demonstrate impact and inclusiveness in regional development. Out of a total of 266 applications, 25 finalists were selected, including the AGEO project. Following the presentation of the finalist projects and interviews with the jury, AGEO was chosen by the jury as the winner in the category “Green Europe” and was also the most voted by the public.

AGEO developed tools and methodologies to improve preparedness for geological risks in Atlantic regions, promoting the engagement and active participation of citizens in risk mitigation and in strengthening risk management systems.

The project was coordinated by Instituto Superior Técnico and involved 13 partners from Portugal, Spain, France, Ireland and United Kingdom.
