Topics in Linguistics and related fields: projects and research avenues
Prof. Zdenka Gadusova & Prof. Eva Stranovská
Within the longstanding academic cooperation and the set of academic events on Linguistics and related fields, set out in 2014 (DLLC/FAH-UMa), and organized between the University of Madeira, particularly the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and The Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (Slovakia), we hereby invite colleagues and students to attend a series of events run by Prof. Zdenka Gadusova (Full Professor at the Department of English and American Studies) and Prof. Eva Stranovská (Department of German Studies).
The scholars will be presenting and discussing the research outcomes of an international project with colleagues and students to be held on the 27th of October 2021, as follows:
11:00-13:00: “Development of reading literacy in a mother tongue and foreign languages” - Prof. Zdenka Gadusova
14:00-15:30: “Research outcomes - reading literacy in foreign languages, particularly in the German language” - Prof. Eva Stranovská
15:30-16:00: Further research
ABOUT Zdenka GADUSOVA
Prof. Zdenka GADUSOVA, Ph.D. is an experienced university manager, project coordinator, university teacher and teacher trainer in the field of methodology of foreign language teaching at the Department of English and American Studies, Faculty of Arts, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (Slovakia). For several years she worked in the position of the Head of the Department where she co-ordinated several TEMPUS JEP projects. In 1996 she became the Vice-dean for Education and since 2002 she was in the position of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts for 8 years. Then, in the years 2010-2014, she was the vice-dean for research and postgraduate studies. She is the author of 12 monographs, 6 university textbooks and a number of papers, regular presenter of the results of her research work at conferences and seminars.
ABOUT Eva Stranovská
Prof. Eva Stranovská, Ph.D. works at the Department of German Studies, Faculty of Arts, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia. She is involved in foreign language (German) teacher training. Her research activities are focused on psycholinguistics, applied linguistics, and applied social psychology, cognitive linguistics, didactics and foreign language methodology. Recently, she has focused her applied research on investigating the impact of the intervention on foreign language competence and reading comprehension. She has been principal investigator in several national and international projects. The results of her research have been published in peer-reviewed journals in WoS and Scopus databases and in a number of conference proceedings. She also is the author of 13 scientific monographs, 11 university textbooks, and 4 textbooks for primary and secondary schools.
