The Faculty of Life Sciences’ main goal is to carry out fundamental and applied research activities. These activities are oriented towards the development of researchers, of scientific and pedagogic responsibility of the degrees’ curricular units and of the scientific areas under its responsibility.
The Faculty of Life Sciences aims to, within its areas of knowledge: carry out promotion and academic extension activities, as well as delivering services to the community; Promote cultural, scientific and technical exchange with similar national and international institutions, and promote student and graduate mobility programmes, as well as teaching staff and researcher mobility programmes, either nationally or internationally; Promote and participate in other academic and training activities, and in activities of interest to the University and to the place where they take place; develop scientific and technological research activities through its research centres, thus preserving its autonomy according to its own regulations.
