Biographical Notes

José S. Câmara is Assistant Professor with Habilitation at the University of Madeira (Madeira Island/Portugal), in the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Engineering, Department of Chemistry, where he is responsible for food chemistry, analytical chemistry, and extraction and chromatographic techniques. Is a Senior Researcher at CQM, the team leader of the CQM Natural Products Research Group (NPRG), responsible for the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry and Enology, and Director of the Master?s in Applied Biochemistry (www.uma.pt/ensino/2o-ciclo/mestrado-em-bioquimica-aplicada/).
President of the Chromatography group/Portuguese Chemistry Society (2023-2025), and former President of the same group between 2007-2009, and from the Food Chemistry Division/Portuguese Chemistry Society (2018-2021).
Authored >235 papers in high-impact journals with peer-review and impact factor (hi=60; i10: 189, number of citations >12500) (Google Scholar), 16 book chapters, and presented over 600 Communications (oral and poster) in International and National scientific Conferences.
Supervisor: PhD (14, 8 concluded) ; MSc thesis (35, 32 concluded)
Coordination and participation in several national and international research projects (European, EraNet (2), Interreg (3) Horizon 2020 (PRIMA (1); https://doi.org/10.54499/PRIMA/0009/2023), and scientific networks (Pt-MS, Sample Preparation).
Regular referee of several scientific journals, >310 papers, and Edited >120 articles for different scientific journals.
Member of the Editorial Board of several scientific journals and Guest Editor of several Special Issues.
