Biographical Notes

Full Professor at the Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Madeira. Habilitation in Biochemistry and Biotechnology, UMa. PhD in Biology, specializing in Biochemistry and Plant Physiology, and Master in Biochemistry and Enzymology from the University of Voronezh, Russian Federation. Professor at the Faculty of Life Sciences and at the Higher School of Technology and Management, UMa. Director of the Master's Degree in Agriculture and Rural Development and of the Technical Courses in Organic Agriculture and Agri-Food Technologies. Coordinator and researcher at ISOPlexis Center for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Technology, UMa and researcher at CITAB, Research Center for Agri-Food and Biological Technologies, UTAD. Researcher at the Inov4Agro Associate Laboratory. Research activity in the area of ??Agriculture, Food and Bioeconomy. His main research interests are related to Agrodiversity and Food Production Systems, and the mechanisms of interaction between Metabolomes and the biophysical environment and their adaptation to abiotic stresses and climate change. He created the ISOPlexis Germplasm Bank (BG-ISOPlexis) and the supporting scientific and pedagogical infrastructures. Principal Investigator (PI or IR) or researcher in 45 research projects, funded by regional, national or community programs. Flagship projects, CASBio, climate change monitoring in agriculture and agrosystems, and isUP-AgrO. Author of 439 publications. The main works (193) include 3 theses, 13 monographs (5 author or 8 editor), 20 chapters in collections/monographs, 119 articles in specialized scientific journals, including 10 review articles, and 38 scientific articles in annals.
