Overall objectives:

0 - The main goal of the Seminar is to familiarize the students with a set of activities related to the offline and online meetings. In this way, we will focus on the preparation of the people, equipment and resources that are required to develop all the processes leading to the realization of an event, both in the creation, as in the organization and analysis of the results.
1 - Competencies to develop: - Develop social skills to engage with companies and clients; - Prepare students to execute the organized plans and to create and innovate strategies in association between companies and customers, developing new products/events; - Train Students the necessary skills to be able to work in this tourist activity.

Syllabus:

1.2 - Foundations and objectives of the organization of hotel anda catering events. Typologies, Organization, Program and contents, Assistants and target audiences and Communication plan.
3 - Pre-event activities: identification of objectives, clients, hosts and partners. Communication and public relations, sponsorships and protocol.
4.5 - Production of the event. Disposition of people, equipment, technological resources, and materials. Suppliers and budget.
6.7 - Execution of the event. Development of planned activities. Spaces and Speakers. Management of the assistants. Communication management: press, videoconferencing, catering, photos, videos, streaming.
8 - Disassembly. Equipment to remove the materials that were used in the event. Post-event contact with participants. Communicative management of the event.
9.10 - Evaluation of results. Level of compliance, efficiency of transmission of contents, satisfaction of the participants and hosts. ROI, profitability, economic impact and Media impact.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
a) Teaching methodology: - Finding information, preparation and organization of material. Self-study and Group Study - Seminar with Debates. There will be invited Hotel managers and other managers responsible for events organization that will give their insight and practical cases. - Case Studies. - Supervised Projects carried by group. b) The evaluation consists of an individual written assignment, with a evaluation value of 50% and the performance of a group work with oral presentation to the class, with a value of 50%. This CU has only continuous evaluation, not considering evaluation at reassessment period.
