Scientific Area:

Sport

Workload:

33 Hours

Number of ECTS:

3 ECTS

Language:

Portuguese

Overall objectives:

1 - To contribute to understanding and substantiating the importance of physical-motor activity in the child's overall development.
2 - To define the structural bases, principles and stages of Motor Development; the laws of motor development and the development of motor skills.
3 - Address the notions of mastery of the body, spatial-temporal organization of movement, perceptual-motor development and socio-motor integration.
4 - Reflect on the relationship between motor skills and learning.

Syllabus:

1 - Anthropogenesis of Motor Behavior.
2 - Structural and functional bases of motricity (ontogenetic approach; chronology of motor development; principles of neural development and motor repercussions; critical period and plasticity).
3 - Organization of the motor system: tone, posture and movement (tonic function, postural organization, planning and execution of ideational movements; organization and hierarchy of motor system behaviours).
4 - Human control and performance (systemic vision, motor control, laterality).
5 - Motor learning (models, mechanisms; motor skills).

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
Through a set of theoretical and practical experiences and laboratory practices, the contents of the course are transmitted, reflected on and consolidated. These are approached in a dynamic way, using a variety of resources, seeking to promote active participation and a reflective and critical attitude among the students. The creation of study habits is promoted through research and reflection on the topics covered. Two retakes are carried out in complementary assessment: (64% (Test) + 36% (Work and Participation))/100. The student must obtain a minimum final mark of 9.5 on the weighted average of all the items: Tests-minimum mark 8 (9.5 for all tests). Failure to comply will result in further assessment; Work - minimum mark of 8. Failure to fulfil the requirements for continuous assessment makes it impossible to pass. Attendance at 75% of classes is compulsory for continuous and complementary assessment.
