Undergraduate Degree in Informatics Engineering

The cycle of studies of the Undergraduate Degree in Informatics Engineering is comprised of 6 semesters (3 academic years). Those who obtain 180 ECTS are awarded the title.
This degree’s main objective is to train professionals to be able to respond autonomously and with great skills to the challenges that arise in this sector’s strict and dynamic job market.
Throughout this undergraduate degree, students will develop skills related to the conception, performance and maintenance of informatic systems, development of applications, software’s architecture and management of information systems.
A scientific and technological training is fostered based in engineering sciences, in order to solve some of our society’s concrete issues.
As this is a field in constant expansion and evolution, students will be prepared to become familiar with the models and paradigms of informatics engineering, and with the ethical and professional responsibilities associated with the professional practice, enabling them to be conscious and autonomous professionals.

Graduates will be able to conceptualize, perform, and keep informatic applications; analyse and develop software architecture; manage information and knowledge systems; work in system’s implementation, usability, quality and documentation; develop activities in several fields, such as Environment, energy, health, transportation, teaching, among others.

Candidates

This degree is aimed at those who look for an advanced technological training in the fields of informatics, shaped to the needs of a job market in constant evolution.
Candidates may apply via the National Higher Education Access Contest providing they successfully passed one of the required admission exams. Candidates may also enrol via special regimes such as course/institution transfer, through one of the Special Contests in force or the Interntional Student Statute.
