Overall objectives:

1 - Students will be required an active, autonomous and creative participation in the lessons of this course.
2 - For this objective to be achieved, it will be very important for students to practice and to focus on Language (language awareness). There will be a constant contrastive reflection on language and intercultural approaches.
3 - To work with authentic additional material wich will be made available to students and will be used throughout the semester.
4 - To reach the level A2 from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

Syllabus:

1 - Students? work will be closely followed by the lecturer, units 5-10 from ?Unternehmen Deutsch Grundkurs,? and additional work with authentic material will be handed out.
2 - To understand (and answer) simple questions, information, news on the telephone, and short dialogues in everyday and professional situations
3 - To take relevant information from basic written texts.
4 - To write short texts
5 - To introduce themselves and answer questions about themselves in a dialogue.
6 - Preparation for the oral exam.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
Students work in class meetings mainly in the following three variants: individual work, partner work and group work. Students also have to talk individually to the rest of the class when they have to inform the class about their partner work or group work. Directed teaching (teacher --> students) only takes place when it is necessary to explain the complexity of some language features, or because the first explanation was not clear enough, or because students request further information. The assessment consists of two partial exams (80%, 40% each), of an oral exam (10%) and of graded Homework (10%).
