Overall objectives:

1 - The course is a general introduction to contemporary German linguistics. This is an introduction to the problems, the areas of research, the terms, methods, results, the theory and the evolution of the German language.
2 - This course should also motivate students to an individual language work. Will be in-depth knowledge in the area of syntax, morphology and phonetics / phonology German.
3 - Alongside these linguistic objectives, we want to will the practical part of the course, a deepening of German language skills (Level Target: B2).

5 - The above objectives will be achieved with the direct and active work based on original texts, grammars, books and practical manuals of Germanic linguistics. These materials will be studied and analyzed in class as well as homework.

1 - 1. Syntax: What is a clause? Types of clause, simple and complex sentences, Parse sentence.
2 - 2. Morphology: Morphological analysis, word types, word formation
3 - 3. phonetics and phonology: Introduction to phonetic and phonology, phonation and articulation, vowel and consonant

Evaluation Methodology:
Teaching Methodologies:The main forms of classroom work are: 1) Teacher presentations with the aid of Power point, to which students have prior access to in the InfoAlunos platform (as with all the material and literature in this course), thus better able to follow the explanations of the teacher. The slides are in German, but the teacher will always translate and explain the contents in Portuguese (principle of contrastive / comparison)! 2) Resolution of worksheets with a partner, in a group or on their own ("Aufgabenblätter"). 3) individual resolution of worksheets that the student will do a previously scheduled days in the classroom and you will have to load the answers into the InfoAlunos platform by which the student will have a classification (Arbeitsblätter). Throughout the semester the student will have to hand over ten worksheets. These worksheets help the student to get used to autonomous study. Your contribution will be used to improve translation Evaluation: - Continuous-evaluation: 80% 2 exams (40% + 40%) + 20% Worksheets - Follow the Learning Assessment Regulations Students UMa (see Model B) -In Resource season will be admitted students with regular status (N) meeting the conditions to restore or improve the frequency at which obtained a lower score (40%). -Alunos With worker-student status may make a written test feature of the two frequencies (80%). - The worksheets (20%) can not be neither recovered nor improved in rsource season. - To be assessed, it is mandatory to have a grade in each of the evaluation elements
