Master's Degree in Electrotechnical Engineering - Telecommunications

The cycle of studies of the master’s degree in electronic and telecommunications’ engineering is comprised of 4 semesters (2 academic years). Those who obtain 120 ECTS are awarded the title.
This master’s degree’s main aim is to develop the skills initiated in the first cycle of studies in the field of electrical engineering, focusing in Telecommunications. It also has as its main objective the acquisition and development of scientific and pedagogical competences, necessary to the performance in management roles both in public and private companies.
A specialist in Electrical engineering and telecommunications has the ability to: understand and analyse problems in electrical engineering and telecommunications, while applying universally accepted methodologies; find solutions that respect cost, time, functionality and social and environmental framework commitments; has the needed knowledge to keep up with the quick and complex development of electrotechnical engineering and telecommunications, adapting and mastering concepts and the essential tools; deal with the scientific accuracy in the conception, shape, production, operation and maintenance of electrotechnical engineering and telecommunication systems; knowledge in the leadership of groups and projects, evaluating the importance of Man and of Society in technology; respond with success and autonomy towards new situations.

Graduates will be qualified to: design, conceive, produce and keep electrotechnical engineering and telecommunication systems; perform roles in services linked to bank, insurance, tourism, culture and entertainment; perform duties in central, regional and local public administration.

Candidates

Candidates may apply if holders of an undergraduate degree or legal equivalent; holders of an international higher academic degree, recognized as meeting the objectives of an Undergraduate degree in the field of electrotechnical engineering; holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum recognized by head of this cycle of studies, attesting to the ability to the conclusion of the degree.
