Overall objectives:
This course aims at enhancing the students knowledge of English both written and orally. The students will acquire information related to Madeira and Nature activities, as well as, practice and revise basic language structures and vocabulary. At the end of the course they will be able to talk about themselves and the features in Madeira. They will be able to describe places, give directions, engage in conversation, argue points, express opinions, solve problems and guide tours in Nature and the city. Students will be between a B2 and a C1 level, according to The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

1.2. Vocabulário:
1.2.1. Extensão do vocabulário com afixação e palavras compostas.
1.2.2. Colocações
1.2.3. Adquirir vocabulário e terminologia específicos.
1.3.Escrita:
1.3.1. Resumindo
1.3.2. Expressão de opiniões e discussão de pontos de vista.
1.3.2. Escrever relatórios, reclamações e cartas.
1.4. Falar:
1.4.1. Utilizar a língua inglesa para recontar, explicar, e descrever,
1.4.2. Utilização da língua inglesa para interagir em situações específicas e quotidianas.

Assesssment methods and criteria:
Students will be assessed by a written test an an esay (30% + 30%) and an oral interview (30%). The remaining 10% is for attendance and punctuality and participation, interest and initiative in the classroom.
