This degree aims to train professionals to be capable of developing, autonomously or within a team, technical, organisational and coordinating functions at Agricultural Holdings, related businesses or individual titles; It also trains the candidates to carry out Farming, Agrofood or Rural Tourism activities, aiming to implement and manage organic production systems, while adopting and implementing specific cultural methods and practices, in strict compliance with the foundations and ruling legislation of Organic Practices, while meeting costumers' sustainability, food quality and safety demands.

Career Opportunities and Employability

Working at Agricultural Holdings, in the Agrofood industry and in Food Production, in companies and public administration to implement food certification, quality and safety norms, fulfilling hygiene and quality parameters, and being able to analyse the biophysical environment and natural resources available; Evaluating the biodiversity, the genetic resources meant for agriculture and the food available at agricultural holdings, thus promoting its sustainable use; Designing and preparing Agricultural Projects and managing agricultural holdings, while following organic production practices, and outlining, implementing and operating farming production plans.

Candidates

Possible Candidates
- Holders of a High School Diploma or similar;
- Candidates that are over 23 years old, whose admission has been approved through the higher education special contest meant for students over 23;
- Holders of a Technological Specialisation course diploma, of a Higher Professional Technical Course diploma or of a Higher Education Degree.
