Course Information

Course Objectivs

1. Master some necessary Spectroscopic techniques for the determination of the structure of organic compounds.

2. Interpreting spectra of compounds in the field of spectroscopy UV / visible, infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry.

3. Recognize the tables with the spectroscopic data necessary for structural elucidation of organic compounds.

4. Process information from various spectroscopic methods and analyze the spectral data in view of the structural determination.

Evaluation Criteria

The evaluation of this curricular unit consists of:

1. two tests, one after the first three chapters and the other after the following two chapters: (15% +15%);

2. final test: 50%, comprising all the theoretical matter;

3. works and exercises 15%;

4. continuum evaluation: 5% during the course of the semester.
