Course Information

Course Objectivs

1 Understanding the demographic situation and population health.

2 Understand the purpose, objectives and epidemiological methods.

3 Knowing the basics of scientific research.

4 Knowing the basics of research methodology.

5 Understand the theoretical principles and practical aspects of statistics and probability.

6 Develop skills relating to procedures inferirência from one sample to the population (decision on assumptions, estimation of population parameters from sample characteristics relevant comparison populations, ...).

7 Developing skills for use and application of a statistical software (SPSS PASW or, for example) in the statistical analysis.

8 Understand the purposes and objectives of the technologies of information and communication in nursing.

9 Applying information and communication technologies to nursing.

Evaluation Criteria

Classification Type: Quantitative (0-20)
Evaluation Model: A
Evaluation Methodology: 1 frequency to assess the knowledge acquired by the student. 1 group summarizing work with oral presentation; attendance is aimed at evaluating the learning objectives and confirmation of skills. Thus, the student must attend 75% of classroom activities that involve working group discussion (10% of the weight of the evaluation). 1 frequency individual to assess the knowledge acquired by the student. 1 written work with oral presentation. The student must attend at least 75% of the hours devoted to classroom teaching sessions to access the assessment tests. Non-participation by 75% implies disapproval on course and not recovery rating in on recourse or special periods.
