Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology

The cycle of studies of the master's degree in Educational Psychology is comprised of 4 semesters (2 academic years). Those who obtain 120 ECTS are awarded the title.
This degree aims at providing solid theoretical and practical training, to qualify students with research and reflection skills in the areas of educational, childhood, teenage, adult, senior, human development psychology, as well as psychological evaluation, personal development and career. In the second year of this master’s degree, students may choose to do a supervised internship and an internship report or to develop a project and thesis within the area.
The master’s degree in Educational Psychology objective is the development of psychological products and services, like the development of structural skills. Thus, students are expected to develop their communication skills (either verbal or written), and to be aware of the ethical and deontological commitment of psychologists and professionals in the fields of education. Students should be prepared to carry out duties such as evaluation, diagnosis, expertise, psychological intervention, treatment and rehabilitation.

Career Opportunities and Employability

Graduates will be capable of carrying duties in day cares, to join teams and projects of early, social and educational, and community intervention; to take part in psychological support services in public and private educational institutions; to practice, in an independent manner, their functions, having in mind the evaluation and psychological intervention among teachers, students and their families (liberal profession); to carry out functions and participate in projects connected to teaching and research.

Candidates

This degree is specially aimed at those who own an undergraduate degree in Psychology.
Candidates may apply if holders of an undergraduate degree or legal equivalent; holders of an international higher academic degree, recognized as meeting the objectives of an Undergraduate degree in the field of electrotechnical engineering; holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum recognized by head of this cycle of studies, attesting to the ability to the conclusion of the degree.
